The shearling, leather and fur used in our garments are all natural skins making each product unique. Variations in texture and shade are intrinsic qualities of such materials and should not be regarded as defects.

Traditional wax garments should not be washed or dry-cleaned.

Allow any mud to dry before gently brushing off with a soft, lint free, fabric pad. Sponge with cold water if needed. Always allow your garment to dry thoroughly after use in a cool, airy environment. Ideally dry on a hanger to retain the shape. Never pack away your garment while damp or wet.

Re-proofing will maintain the weatherproof qualities and extend the garment's life. Use only a good quality re-proofing wax dressing which can be purchased online from a number of retailers.

• Place tin of dressing in warm water to soften.
• Apply with clean cotton cloth, paying particular attention to seams, elbows, pocket edges, cuffs and creases following any directions on the tin.
• How often a garment needs re-proofing will depend on the frequency a garment is worn. With regular wear we recommend re-proofing once a year.

Never use soap, detergents or solvents.

There are many different leathers including lamb, calf, goat and cow hide with finishes including nappa, suede, nubuck and aniline. 

• Avoid wearing in heavy rain as this can affect the texture of leather.If caught in the rain, shake off excess water and allow drying to occur naturally (on a broad shouldered coat hanger if a garment) out of direct sunlight. 
  
• Suede pile can be revived by gently rubbing with a soft suede brush or dry sponge.
• Leather garments and accessories can be protected using a leather/suede spray.  We suggest testing a small area first following any instructions on the can. We cannot accept responsibility for any results to the article.
• If your leather piece requires cleaning always use a specialist cleaner following the instructions on the care label. It is advisable to remove buttons before cleaning.
• Sunlight can cause leather to fade or change colour therefore it is advisable when storing your piece to keep it in the original dust bag. Never store your piece when damp or wet. Store in a low humidity location, never in a closed plastic bag.

 Lambskin/shearling is a skin tanned with the wool still on. There are many different breeds all offering various qualities of leather and wool characteristics. 

• Avoid wearing in heavy rain as this can affect the texture of leather and straightened wool.
• If caught in the rain, shake off excess water and allow drying to occur naturally (on a broad shouldered coat hanger if a garment) out of direct sunlight.
• Suede pile can be revived by gently rubbing with a soft suede brush or dry sponge.
• Where wool has been straightened it can be combed with a fine metal tooth comb.
• When new wool fibres can transfer to clothing as a result of the hand cutting methods used in the production.
• If your lambskin piece requires cleaning always use a specialist cleaner following the instructions on the care label. It is advisable to remove buttons before cleaning.
• Lambskin pieces can be protected using a leather spray.  Test a small area first following any instructions on the can. We cannot accept responsibility for any results to the article.

There are many different types of fur including raccoon, fox, rabbit, mink, and squirrel, all offering various qualities. These furs can be knitted, stripped, panelled, grooved and sheared. All fur used in our products is farmed.

• If caught in the rain, shake off excess water and allow drying to occur naturally (on a broad shouldered coat hanger if a garment) out of direct sunlight. Using heat will cause both fur and leather to dry out. After it is dry, shake again to fluff the fur.
  
• Knitted fur like hand knitwear can be susceptible to snagging. Take extra care when wearing. Fur fibres can transfer to clothing as a result of the hand cutting methods used in the production.
• When your fur piece requires cleaning always use a specialist fur cleaner following the instructions on the care label. It is advisable to remove buttons before cleaning.
  
• Excess sunlight can cause fur to fade or change colour therefore it is advisable when storing your piece to keep it in the original dust bag. Never store your piece when damp or wet. Store in a low humidity location, never in a closed plastic bag.
